Temple Beth Am is a Reform Congregation, located in Jupiter, FL seeking a full-time Director of Youth and Family Engagement. We are looking for a driven individual who aims to make a positive impact in the life and experience of our youth and families. We work in a team environment and the position reports to the Education Director.

Responsibilities:

Youth Engagement

Develop and build close relationships to connect with youth and their families.
Plan, organize, and supervise activities for K-2 Youth Group, Cochavim (3rd-5th grade), JAMTY Jr (6th-8th grade), and JAMTY (9th-12th grade) including holidays, field trips, social action, and weekend retreats.
Oversee Tuesday Night for Teens (TNT), our post-B’nai mitzvah educational program.
Create and manage yearly calendar of events for youth department.
Coordinate Madrichim Program and JAMTY Café for Religious School.
Design youth group marketing and communication including phone calls, e-mails, social media, group texts, etc.
Facilitate Parent Youth Advisory Committee meetings.
Foster leadership skills and mentor high school and middle school youth boards.
Maintain connection to youth group alumni.
Plan out-of-school-day opportunities for youth.

Family Programming

Collaborate with Education Director in planning and executing family programs.
Implement programs including grade-based programs, parent workshops, school-wide celebrations, and social action opportunities.
Strengthen connection of families to the greater Synagogue community including
Coordinate outreach and engagement for young and unaffiliated families in and out of house

Administrative support (5 hours/week)

Provide support to the accounting department through data entry of employee expenditure reimbursements, help prepare mailing of invoices and bills, and help with filing and maintaining records.

Must enjoy working with and building relationships with kids and their families
Project a professional and welcoming image of the Synagogue
High level of personal integrity
Highly motivated and self-starter
Prior programming and event planning skills
Strong interpersonal, problem solving, organizational and time management skills
Excellent communication skills; not afraid to pick-up the telephone
Think creatively and innovatively
Knowledge of Jewish culture, tradition, and practice
Night/Weekend hours and travel with teens are required as programming dictates
Excellent written, verbal, and math skills
Computer proficiency in MS Office, tech savvy, and comfortable with social media
Experience with QuickBooks and Salesforce, preferred but not required
